DRIFT is a narrative music video for My Favourite Game by The Cardigans, exploring themes of disillusionment, emotional numbness, and lost passion. Inspired by the lyric “losing my favourite game,” I reinterpreted it as losing purpose and drive in life. Drawing from the song’s association with the high-speed intensity of Gran Turismo 2, I structured the video with chaotic pacing, blending emotional and physical drift.
As the writer, I crafted an immersive script highlighting monotony and detachment. As the director, I employed the Snorricam rig for an intimate, first-person perspective. In post-production, I synchronized rapid cuts with the song’s rhythm to heighten restlessness. Color grading reinforced emotional contrast—scenes depicting the protagonist are dull and lifeless, while those with the lead singer appear vibrant.
Ultimately, DRIFT captures the unsettling feeling of being trapped in a passionless cycle, prompting viewers toward reflection. Behind the Scenes of Creating DRIFT
Supernovae is a coming-of-age music video for Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish, created by four interns exploring the cycles of growing apart and finding our way back. Directed by Emilee Namphengsone, with Chakya Williams as 1st AD, Kirah Graham as 2nd AD, and myself as Set PA and Post-Production Editor, the film captures the push and pull of sisterhood—how distance can strengthen love rather than diminish it.
In editing, I wanted to enhance the emotional depth through precise transitions, color grading, and sound design. Using high-quality cameras to achieve a cinematic look, I balanced warm and cool tones to visually mirror the sisters’ evolving connection, while seamless pacing reinforced their journey from separation to reconciliation.
Through Supernovae, we aimed to create a visually and emotionally resonant experience, leaving viewers with a sense of nostalgia, growth, and the enduring strength of family bonds.
Like 1, 2 is a music video for Logan Creed’s song, capturing the delicate dynamics of a love story between two people with contrasting emotional states. The song narrates the story of a person who is hopeful and optimistic about the future of a relationship, while the other struggles to let go of her past, preventing her from fully opening up.
In directing and editing the video, I wanted to visually convey the simplicity, innocence, and purity of first love. Through careful shot selection, color grading, and pacing, I aimed to reflect the emotional depth and progression of the relationship, aligning specific moments with the lyrics to enhance the connection between the characters. Using warm tones and a subtle, naive aesthetic, I wanted the video to evoke the excitement and vulnerability of taking the first steps into a new and uncertain relationship. The final resolution of the story, where the girl ultimately gives the guy a chance, encapsulates the song’s hopeful message of growth and emotional availability.
